This is a 19thC grain measure from Rajasthan.

These very decorative bins were used everywhere in the bazars of India many years ago. In those days the Indian measures were Seers & Pattis
With the original iron and brass embellishments that make a utility item into a thing of beauty.
Showing signs of age but is still very robust. It has now got a beautiful patina from so many years of use.

It would make a great plant pot or wastepaper bin.
